Hazrat Syed Zauqi Shah (R.A.)
(1878 – 1951)
Hazrat Syed Muhammad Zauqi Shah (R.A.) was a Sufi Master of the Chishtia Order. He was a great lover of our Beloved Prophet (PBUH) and was a great spiritual leader who backed the movement for Pakistan and strongly supported the Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.
Hazrat Zauqi Shah (R.A.) predicted the creation of Pakistan as early as 1938 through divine visions, and some of his predictions about the future are given in his books and discourses.
His discourses were compiled by his Khalifas Shah Shahidullah Faridi and Capt. Wahid Baksh Sial Rabbani under the title “Tarbiyyat-ul-Ushaq” (Training of the Divine Lovers – Part 2 or Vision for Seekers of the Truth – Part 1) and published in English and Urdu (Part 1 -English Version published by Ferozsons). (John Gilbert Lennard), born in 1915 was turned towards Islam after reading Hazrat Ali Hajveri Data Ganj Bakhs’s Book ‘Kashf al-Mahjub’
. Though having been born and raised in a wealthy English family he left his home in search of a Sufi shaikh. In India, he eventually met the Chishti Sabri Shaikh, Hazrat Maulana Syed Muhammad Zauqi Shah
and pledged allegiance to him. At forty years of age, the responsibilities of spiritual succession were entrusted to him. He lived in Karachi for about thirty years until he died on Ramadan 17th in 1978. Shah Shahidullah Faridi was a renowned writer on spiritual matters, and was regarded as having great clarity and insight. One of his most famous books is Inner Aspects of Faith
. He also compiled Part Two of “Tarbiatul Ushaq” (“The Training of Divine Lovers”)
